The situation in the Gulf is like a gift from Hell for President Obama and his Democrat cronies. First, Congress does not have to admit being big oil’s lap dog. No one will ever know, other than senators and representatives, about all the sweetheart legislation that breezed through the corrupted halls of Capitol Hill. There is a quid pro quo secreted therein that would curdle milk.
Furthermore, no one is upset about Obamacare that President Obama (almost single handedly) forced Americans to accept. Hardly a word is mentioned about the pressure President Obama used on Democrat representatives. Moreover, Obamacare once required a super-majority in the Senate, but after “the Kennedy Chair” was lost to Scott Brown, a republican, the Democrat majority changed the rules to assure that Obamacare would pass before the uncertain, November 2010, elections. At that time, every legitimate poll showed that a wide majority of the electorate opposed Obamacare. Voters never had an opportunity to examine the Bill, because it was never released to the people. It is likely that most congressional representatives never even read it, because it was thousands of pages long (2,400 pages) and most of them never even read the ten pages of the Arizona Immigration Law - although their opposition was certainly vociferous. Unlike Obamacare, the Arizona statute has the approval of the majority of voters across the country. In essence, our representatives passed Obamacare, which the people oppose, and are challenging Arizona’s Immigration Law, which voters support.
Something is terribly wrong in a purported democracy that fragrantly disregards the people’s choices. Who are these men and women, barricaded inside the beltway, supposed to be representing? The apparent scope of corruption in Washington has made it almost unrecognizable; the alleged corruption, which many people are talking about, may even require criminal prosecution before this is over. One would think that would be first page, headline news. How come reporters in big media rarely talk or write about it? Anyone who can’t see that the Congress and big media are being manipulated is either a participant in the wrongdoing or ignorant! Involvement in this degree of corruption, without vast outside control, is impossible. Perhaps there really are powerful forces controlling events from the shadows; people like the invisible global elite?
Fortunately, the 2010 midterm elections afford voters the opportunity to begin a process of change. Hopefully, non-democrats will be successful in the election. Although republicans have proven themselves no better, at least there will be greater control over the Obama Administration’s policies.
Although a plethora of other important issues are not addressed (Afghanistan, Islam terrorism, immigration reform, poor economy, unemployment, Main Street and Wall Street corruption, etc.) anyone can fill-in the blanks. Hopefully, most voters will not be so overcome with the Administration’s Gulf Coast dog and pony snow job, that they lose site of other issues that are tearing the United States apart. Despite the Obama Administration’s effort to focus all the blame on B.P., the fact remains that the government is also significantly responsible for damages to the injured parties and the environment. At a minimum, that should be the consequence of their inaction and delays.
Eighteen months have passed and President Obama's campaign promises remain unfulfilled. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Hopefully, all Americans will remember that cliché while analyzing President Obama’s actions as well as his democratically controlled legislature.
